Signing in, saving progress, purchases, child profiles, and technical problems.

Account

Playing without an account

You can play without creating an account. Progress is saved in your browser on the device you are using. If you clear your browser, switch devices, or use a different browser, that progress is lost and cannot be recovered.

Progress played without an account cannot be transferred to an account later. If you want your progress saved across devices, create a free account before you start.

How to sign up

Go to play.fishyfractions.co.uk and tap "Create account." Enter your email address and choose a password. A verification email will be sent — click the link to confirm your address.

How to sign in

Tap "Sign in" on the game start screen and enter your email and password. If you are already signed in on another device, your progress will sync automatically.

I forgot my password

Tap "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen. Enter your email address and a reset link will be sent. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.

How to delete my account

Sign in and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Your personal data is removed within 30 days. Purchase records are kept for 7 years as required by UK law — this is a legal requirement and cannot be changed.

My school email is not working

Some school email systems block automatic verification emails. Email support@fishyfractions.co.uk with your school name and we will verify your account manually within 2 working days.

How to buy the full game

Tap the upgrade button in the game when you reach a premium topic, or visit the pricing page. You need a free account first. The one-time payment is £3.99 via Lemon Squeezy and unlocks Topics 5–8 and the full aquarium shop permanently.

How to restore a purchase

Web purchases are tied to your account. To restore:

  • Web: Sign in with the account you used when you bought. Your purchase restores automatically — there is no separate restore button.
  • iOS (when available): Use "Restore purchase" on the upgrade screen in the game.
  • Android (when available): Reinstall from the Play Store using the same Google account you used to purchase.

If you have signed in but the game shows locked content, email support@fishyfractions.co.uk with the email address you used and we will restore access within 2 working days.

I was charged but the game is not unlocked

Try signing out and signing back in first — this usually fixes it. If not, email support@fishyfractions.co.uk with your order confirmation and we will sort it out within 2 working days.

How to request a refund

Web purchases can be refunded within 14 days if less than 30% of the premium topics have been attempted. Email refunds@fishyfractions.co.uk with your Lemon Squeezy order number.

Child profiles and parent dashboard

What are child profiles?

A premium account can have up to three child profiles. Each profile has its own progress through the topics, its own aquarium, and its own coin balance. Profiles are set up from the parent dashboard after purchasing.

What does the parent dashboard show?

The parent dashboard shows each child profile's progress through the eight topic areas, which topics have been attempted, and their current coin balance.

Child profiles are a premium feature

Child profiles and the parent dashboard are only available on premium accounts. Free accounts have a single progress record. To add child profiles, purchase premium first.

Accessibility settings

How to change accessibility settings

Tap the settings icon in the top corner of the game screen. Accessibility options include text size, high contrast mode, dyslexia-friendly font, and reduced motion.

Can I turn off animations?

Yes — enable reduced motion in the game settings. The animated background and decorative transitions are turned off. Fish still swim. Alternatively, set reduced motion in your device's OS settings and FishyFractions will respect that preference automatically.

Technical problems

The game will not load

Try these steps in order:

  1. Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac, or close and reopen on mobile).
  2. Check your internet connection.
  3. Try a different browser.
  4. Clear your browser cache for play.fishyfractions.co.uk.

If none of these work, email support@fishyfractions.co.uk with your device type and browser version.

My progress is not saving

If you are signed in, progress saves automatically after each correct answer. If your progress is not appearing on another device, try signing out and back in.

If you are playing without an account, progress is saved in your browser only. Clearing your browser data will erase it. Progress saved without an account cannot be moved to an account. Create a free account to save progress permanently across devices.

The game is running slowly

Try closing other browser tabs and apps. On older devices, enabling reduced motion in the accessibility settings can help significantly. If problems persist, email support@fishyfractions.co.uk.

Sound is not working

Check your device volume and the sound setting in the game's settings panel. On iOS, check the silent/mute switch on the side of the device. On Android, check that media volume — not just ringtone volume — is turned up.
